The Asics brand was founded in 1977 by Kihachiro Onitsuka. Asics began as an athletic footwear company whereby Onitsuka manufactured basketball shoes from his living room in Kobe, Japan. The name Asics derives from a renowned Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano", which when translated into English means "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." The brand philosophy maintains the idea that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote complete health and fitness. All Asics products, including the collection of Asics watches are associated with the idea of superb athletic performance and technical advancements. The collection of Asics watches can be described as modern, sleek and sporty and are perfect for every person who enjoys an active lifestyle. The range comprises of designs for men and women in addition to a selection of unisex styles and the watches are available in an array of colours with the iconic Asics logo displayed upon the case. The colours vary from striking hot pink watches for women to grey and blue versions for men, with some designs more overstated than others. Each Asics watch features a durable rubber strap and boasts a multifunctional LDC dial, chronograph quartz movement plus a date and alarm function.
